Miwako Steinmann

Miwako, wife of artist Heinz Steinmann, was born in Japan in 1968.

Her hometown was Kobe and she has lived in Australia since 1994. She is a musician and sub-master of the traditional Japanese Koto instrument, but equally talented as a painter; excelling at drawing and painting throughout her school years.  While in France she studied many impressionist works at the Musee d’Orsay and Orangerie and this experience has influenced her style.

Her oil paintings are based on places of Far North Queensland and Koya-san, Japan that are inspiring and dear to her.
